Project Overview
The Idea of the product is inspired by the cruel fact that people are reading less and less and more on social media. In the meantime, people are also becoming more dependent on social media. As one of the most impactful disruptive technologies in the 21st century, social media is shaping people’s behaviour, positively and negatively. People tend to browse and swipe nowadays more rather than actually focus on things during a period.
Problem Statement
- Unable to read any further due to social media interruptions.
- Glued to social media and always checked for fresh notifications. Not having a set time for reading books
- Don't have any book collections and am unsure where to begin.
- A lack of desire to read books.
Solutions
- The Dushu app is helping users develop the habit of daily reading through clear guidance.
- Achievable goals: The app focuses on helping its users achieve a relatively easy goal in a short time frame. The goals are also customisable - users can set their own preferred reading slot, time and book.
- Provides different challenges using gamification elements to motivate users to continue reading.
- The Circle function makes reading a social activity, promotes competition among friends and helps the users achieve their reading goals.
- Through push notifications aimed at the right time, Dushu is sending personalised messages encouraging, reminding or congratulating the users for their achievements.
